Deck Evaluation

The strongest deck in A3a.
It can handle most decks in A3b as well, but it’s weak against top-tier Fire decks.
A basic Buzzwole ex deck enhanced with Mars for stronger hand disruption.

How to Play, Strategy & Gameplay

Basic Deck Rotation

Proceed with a 1-1-2 setup from Pheromosa, Kartana or Kartana, Pheromosa into Buzzwole ex. Use Pheromosa and Kartana to score 1 Prize point and deal damage to an ex Pokémon on the opponent’s Bench with Pheromosa. Buzzwole ex can attack consecutively using the Abilities of two Celesteela. Use Red Card in the early game to disrupt, and play Mars in the late game to shuffle your opponent’s finisher card back into their deck.

First Turn Strategy & Ideal Setup

Use Celesteela as a wall, then start dealing damage with either Pheromosa or Kartana from the next turn. The rest proceeds the same as when going second.

Second Turn Strategy & Ideal Setup

Attack with either Pheromosa or Kartana to take one Prize. Since you don’t want them to be knocked out immediately, use Leaf Cape or Erika to help keep them alive longer.

Key Playing Points to Always Keep in Mind

Take care to manage damage so that Buzzwole ex doesn’t get targeted by Cyrus. Since Buzzwole ex is your finisher, play in a way that ensures it has enough Energy attached. Be prepared for the possibility that Mars may discard Lusamine from your hand. In the late game, play while considering whether to use Lusamine, Mars, or Cyrus, depending on the situation.

Matchup Strategy Against Specific Decks (Charizard ex Deck)

Even with Leaf Cape, Buzzwole ex can be knocked out in one hit by Charizard ex’s attack. So, before sending Buzzwole ex into the Active Spot, you should deal damage to Charizard ex with Celesteela. Alternatively, try to knock it out before it evolves.

Who Should Use This Deck

Recommended for players who want to enjoy strategic play, from beginners to advanced players.
Best used when Fire decks are not prevalent.
